Mary Jewel Webb died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 71.

A native of the Grand Gulf community, Mrs. Webb had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rembert C. Webb Jr.; her parents, William Calvin Towne and Pearl Johnston Towne; a sister, Bobby Lee Horn; and one grandson, Wane Watson.

She is survived by a son, Rembert Collis Webb III; two daughters, Rebecca Serou and Beatrice “A.B.” Watson, both of Vicksburg; one brother, Warren Towne of Vicksburg; one sister, Jean Lewis of Redwood; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at a later date under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
