The summer just keeps getting longer and longer for the Mississippi Braves.

The M-Braves dropped their seventh in a row as the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx won 9-6. Mississippi has been outscored 44-14 in that span. The longest losing streak in M-Braves’ history was nine in a row in 2008.

The D-Jaxx scored four runs in the seventh inning against M-Braves’ starter Mike Minor to overcome a one-run deficit and win their tenth straight. The victory for West Tenn ties a franchise record for consecutive wins.

In a game with six lead changes, the Braves jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. It was the first time the M-Braves scored a first-inning run in 17 games. Antoan Richardson scored off a wild pitch by West Tenn starter Steven Hensley. That lead disappeared in the bottom of the inning when Mike Minor gave up a two-out RBI double to Alex Liddi and then a solo home run to Johan Limonta. It was Limonta’s sixth home run of the season and gave the D-Jaxx a 2-1 lead.

In the top of the fourth, the M-Braves sent seven batters to the plate and scored twice. Concepcion Rodriguez and Michael Daniel ripped two-out RBI singles in the frame.

Conception Rodriguez attempted to score from second base, but Kuo Hui Lo’s throw from left field was right on the money and Rodriguez was tagged out to end the inning as the M-Braves held on to a 3-2 advantage. In the bottom of the fourth, Scott Savastano hit a double and Ralph Henriquez blasted a two-run homer over the left field wall to put the D-Jaxx up 4-3.
