The United Way of West Central Mississippi on Monday will bring a nationwide volunteer effort — the third annual United Way Day of Action — to Vicksburg.

Volunteers will “spruce up” Vicksburg Family Development Center as part of the effort, said marketing director Lauren Garrick.

“The goal…is to make it a more attractive learning environment,” she said.

Vicksburg Family Development, on Monroe Street, provides care and education for first- and second-time parents and their children; prenatal classes; preschool education; and anti-alcohol and drug programs.
