A Warren County woman was convicted by a jury Friday of two counts of simple assault, misdemeanors each punishable by up to six months in jail.
Donna Bailey, 52, 715 Roy Young Road, was tried for felony aggravated assault and attempted aggravated assault, charges filed after an Oct. 11, 2008, fight with her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Steven Carlisle.
Steven Carlisle was treated for a gunshot wound following the fight.
Judge Isadore Patrick instructed jurors they could find Bailey guilty of the lesser offense if they believed her actions were negligent rather than intentional.
The trial began Monday with jury selection. Testimony was heard Wednesday and Thursday, and closing arguments, instructions and deliberations took place Friday. Sentencing is set for July 23.
