McDonald, Clark wed May 29 in Carpenter

Jerome McDonald and Julie Denise Clark were married at 3 p.m. May 29, 2010, at Greater White Oak M.B. Church in Carpenter. The Rev. Lonzo McClure Sr. officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Jean Clark of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Annie Laura Coleman of Carlisle, James Lucas of Waukegan, Ill., and the late Lottie Price Clark of Utica.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar McDonald of Hermanville. He is the grandson of Victoria Henderson of Carpenter, the late John and Rosie McDonald of Hermanville and O.C. Henderson.

The bride was given in marriage by her son, Anthony Al’Ryals Clark of Carlisle and her brother, DeMickel McGriggs of Kentucky. Her chosen colors were pistachio, ivory and silver.

Carlos D. Marshall of Edwards presented a program of nuptial music.

Maid of honor was Alethea Mack of Utica. Matron of honor was Nikki Gilmer of Utica. Bridesmaids were LaKeisha Barnes, Terri Jones and LaShay McPherson, all of Utica; Stephanie Clark and Jaclyn Noel, both of Vicksburg; Patricia Sharp, Angie West and Ra’Gee McDonald, all of Hermanville; Marie Tarleton of Port Gibson; Kimberly Woodhouse of Edwards; and Sheba Knox of Clinton.

Also attending the bride was her godmother, Ethel Mae Allen of Hermanville.

The groom’s uncle, Ray Henderson of Crystal Springs, served as best man. Groomsmen were the Rev. Adrain Clark, Charles Clark and Edward Davis, all of Vicksburg; Anthony Clark and Daniel Clark, both of Carlisle; Leroy Allen Sr. of Port Gibson; Calvin Coleman of Byram; Kenzie West Sr. of Hermanville; Michael Barnes of Utica; Alonzo Odoms Jr. of New Orleans; and DeMickel McGriggs of Louisville, Ky.

Ushers were Jer’Varis Bre’Untae Harper, son of the bride, of Carlisle and Ezell Sharp Jr., nephew of the groom, of Hermanville.

Flower girls were IAshia Evans of Utica and LaMaryion Johnson of Port Gibson. Ring bearer was Dylan Johnson of Vicksburg.

Kayla Smith of Port Gibson attended the guest registry.

Special wedding assistant was Joyce Woodhouse of Edwards.

Junior bride was Chry’Aries White of Vicksburg. Bible carrier was Dejaylen Smith of Vicksburg.

A reception followed at Hinds Community College’s Red Room. Hostesses Keera Clark and Clarrise Jones.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to the Gulf Coast. They will make their home in Hermanville.

The bride is employed with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, and the groom is employed with AT&T.

Rehearsal dinner

The bride’s sister honored family, friends and members of the wedding party with a rehearsal dinner in the fellowship hall of Greater White Oak M.B. Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Woodhouse honored the bride and groom with a special dinner.

Shower

Nikki Gilmer, Aletha Mack and Camille Wilson hosted a miscellaneous shower at the Mack home.
