Mrs. Johnnie Mae Price passed away at her Vicksburg home on Monday, June 28, 2010. She was 87 years young.

Mrs. Price was born in Florence, Miss., and was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Owens Price; and granddaughters, Tammara Price Luftig and Jennifer Kay Coody.

Mrs. Price enjoyed gardening and playing bridge with her friends. She had been loyal to “Friends With Bill W” for over 27 years. She worked at M.E. Moses Grocery and retired from Price’s Glass & Mirror Co.

Survivors include her children, Johnny William Price and his wife, Sandra Dardin Price, of Vicksburg, Judy Price Ford and her husband, Dr. Bob Ford, of Vicksburg and Freddie Price Gregory and her husband, Gabby Gregory, of Clinton; grandchildren, Denise Price Miniat and her husband, Dr. Stephen Miniat, Michael Joseph Coody, Johnny William Price Jr. and his wife, Kimberly H. Price, Nicolas Owens Becker, Gabriel Gregory and Kevin, Rebecca and Holly Ford; great-grandchildren, Leah Rae Miniat, Stratton Ellis Miniat, William Thomas Miniat, Samantha Marion Luftig, Michael Donovan Miniat, John Thomas Price, Jack Kilgore Ford, McKenzie Leigh Price and Natalie Ann Ford.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to chapel services for close friends and family at Glenwood Funeral Home on Friday, July 2, at 11 a.m. Her burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. The Revs. Chris Young and Tommy Miller will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Michael Joseph Coody, Johnny W. Price Jr., Nicolas Becker, Gabriel Gregory, Stratton Miniat and Kevin Ford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Tohill, Jimmy Tohill, Charles Moses, Michael Moses, Ronnie Moses, Shelia Ann McRaney and Jim Galbreath.

Expressions of love and sympathy may take the form of contributions made to Good Shepherd Community Center in memory of Mrs. Johnnie Mae Price.
