Another Henry brother, another call-up.

Former Vicksburg High and Ole Miss second baseman Justin Henry was called up from the Class AA Erie SeaWolves to the Class AAA Toledo Mud Hens on June 24 and played his first game on Sunday with the Mud Hens, going 2-for-5 with a run scored.

To earn promotion to Class AAA, Henry hit .272 with one home run, one triple and 12 doubles while driving in 13 runs for Seawolves.

He was a ninth-round selection by the Detroit Tigers in 2007 and Henry has made steady progress since, earning player of the year honors with the low-A West Michigan Whitecaps in 2008. After hitting only .257 with the high-A Lakeland (Fla.) Flying Tigers last season, he has rebounded this year, increasing his on-base percentage from .331 to .379.

It’s the second call-up for the Henry family, as younger brother Jordan was called up to the Class AA Akron Aeros earlier this season. He went 2-for-4 batting leadoff for the Aeros on Tuesday and has bumped his average up to .255 in 14 games. He has six RBIs and three stolen bases.
