A Vicksburg man found stabbed multiple times late Friday remained in River Region Medical Center Saturday night.

The victim was identified Saturday as Albert Harris, 66, 108-A Cossar Court, Vicksburg police Deputy Chief Mitchell Dent said.

Harris was found in his home by his nephew who went to the home to check on his uncle at about 8:45 p.m., Dent said. The wounds indicated he had been stabbed in the chest area, apparently with a knife, hours before, Dent said.

River Region Medical Center spokesman Diane Gawronski said Harris was in fair condition Saturday night.

A knife was recovered, Dent said, but it had not been determined if it was the weapon.

Dent did not say if anything had been stolen from Harris’ home.

He said police had no suspects.
