Mary E. Jones Ward died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Ward Sr.; her parents, Adam and Maud Howard Jones; a brother, Elbert Jones; and a son, Henry Earl Warren.

She is survived by six daughters, Mary Ward and Linda Jones, both of Vicksburg, Maud Helen Jones of Jackson, Selena Carr of Atlanta, Claudette Jones of Reedville, N.C., and Wanda Marshall of Oakland, Calif.; four sons, Albert Jones, James E. Ward Jr., Barry Ward and Larry Ward, all of Vicksburg; a sister, Alice Jones of Vicksburg; a brother, Norma Jones of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
