Bovina volunteer firefighters, from left, Capt. Ricky Holdiness, Capt. Robyn Jeffers and Johnathan C. Priddy stand next to the department’s new fire truck. The 1,300-gallon capacity pumper, purchased from Deep South Fire Trucks, will go into service in three or four weeks. The $199,988 truck was purchased with county and state funds, plus a grant from the Rural Fire Truck Acquisition Assistance Program. Bovina has two trucks with plans for one, in use for 10 years, to be sold.
