In Warren County Circuit Court for the week ending Friday:
• Jemarcus Curry, 18, 3505 Washington St., was found guilty of violating probation and sentenced by Circuit Judge M. James Chaney to the Mississippi Department of Corrections Restitution Center at Hinds, Jackson or Leflore counties to pay $2,822.50 in fines and costs. Curry was arrested Sept. 21 for sale of a controlled substance.
• James Hall, 61, 4729 Gibson Road, after pleading guilty June 14 to two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, was sentenced by Chaney to an MDOC restitution center (unspecified) and ordered to pay $21,322.50 in restitution, fines and costs.
Hall was arrested Aug. 27, 2008.
• Shatara Latrice Mack, 23, 1111 Crawford St., Apt. 13, was found guilty of violating probation and sentenced by Chaney to serve two years in the MDOC Intensive Supervision Program (house arrest), plus $5,470.05 in fines and costs. Mack was indicted in May 2005 for uttering a forgery.
• Marvin Spates Smith, 44, 285 Hutson St., pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced by Chaney to one year of unsupervised probation, plus $1,622.50 in fines and costs. Smith was arrested July 29, 2008.
In Sharkey County Circuit Court:
• Elton Brown, 21, 325 E. Second St., Anguilla, pleaded guilty to two counts of non-residential burglary and was sentenced May 19 by Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick to one year in prison followed by three years of probation, plus $1,522.50 in restitution, fines and costs. Brown was indicted by the grand jury in August. His sentencing was made public this week after delays in filing the sentencing order.
