Lida Strickland Tickell, 82, of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Revs. Lincoln Dall and Brian Carroll officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Tickell retired as an administrative loan officer from Merchants Bank after 40 years of service. She was a member of the National Association of Bank Women, where she held the offices of secretary and vice president. She was also a member of the American Business Women Association and the Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 2572.

She was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Milton and Marie Gardina Strickland; a sister, Audrey Strickland Price; and her husband, Miles Joseph Tickell.

Survivors include one daughter, Sylvia Wren (John); a granddaughter, Nicole Marie Toney (Scott); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Fred Wiggins, George Edward Hude, Joe Parsons, Brent Greer, Robert Johnson and Jackie Hude.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.V. Teague, Charles McGhee, Kirk Martin, Ray Boyd, Douglas Beard, David Gibson, John Rundell, Pete Mann, officers and employees of the former Merchants Bank, members and wives of CBMU 552/553, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2572, Dr. Robert Abraham and Dr. Randy Easterling.
