Titans win last three games at Alabama showdown

The Mississippi Titans won their last three games at the University of Alabama Showdown in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Titans (17-9-1) capped their stay with a 9-0 win over the Golden Spikes, an 18-and-under team, on Saturday. Patrick Barnes of Clinton hit a three-run homer and Carlos Gonzales had a solo shot. Montana McDaniel pitched three innings to grab the win while Blake Jobe pitched three innings of scoreless relief.

“Overall this was a great tourney from a team prospective. The guys had a good showing. They played the best baseball all summer after that first wakeup call. At every game, there was the likes of South Alabama, UAB,and Alabama coaches at these games,” Titans’ coach Roosevelt Brown said.

The Titans blanked Millhouse AEP 9-0 as Ryan Ellis tossed a shutout and also had two hits. McDaniel added an RBI double. The Titans also beat BLP Alabama 4-2 as Taylor Brocato had two hits.
