Ida M. Horton died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 at River Region Medical Center. She was 75.

Mrs. Horton worked for 30 years at Mercy Hospital and at Cooper High School. She was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church, where she served on the Mother Board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Horton; six brothers, Damon Allen Jr., Leonard Allen, Melvin Allen, Freddie Allen, Andrew Allen and John Allen; a sister, Janie Allen; and her parents, Damon Allen Sr. and Rosetta Frazier Allen.

Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Allen of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Albesta Wright of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
