John T. Moody

REDWOOD — Services for John T. Moody will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with James O. Bowman Sr., pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at New Poplar Grove Independent Methodist Church Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family being present from 6 until 7.

Mr. Moody died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at his home. He was 75.

He was born in Warren County and raised in Hinds County. He was a 30-year employee of Vicksburg Ready Mix Cement Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lee; his parents, Humphrey and Ruby Moody; and siblings.

Survivors include five daughters, Eddie Williams, Carolyn Darville and Lynda Ragan, all of Vicksburg, Bettye Moody of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Yvette Moody of Olive Branch; two sons, John T. Moody Jr. of Olympia, Wash., and Anthony Moody of Vicksburg; five sisters, Ruth Byrdsong of Nashville, Nettie Doss of Kosciusko, Laura Moody and Mary Sutton, both of Canton, and Lula Burks of Edwards; a brother, Rueben Moody of Kosciusko; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
