Ludy Perry Young Sr. died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at his home. He was 81.

Mr. Young was retired from the Koestler’s Bakery and Vicksburg Chemical Company. He was a member of New Mount Zion M.B. Church, where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board, taught Bible class and was superintendent of the Sunday school program. He also taught with the Sunday School Institute of Warren County.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Young; a son, Randy Young Sr.; three sisters, Mary Young Sanford, Ada Welch and Ellen Wilson; and his parents, Commodore Perry Young and Ida Young.

He is survived by his two sons, Perry Young Jr. of Moss Point and Larry Young of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
