James Edwin “Bo” Allen, 82, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Promise Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be at Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today.

Bo was a native of Camden, Ark., and lived in Vicksburg most of his life. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1947. Bo was a pulp and paper mill operator for International Paper Company for 50 years. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Society at International Paper Company. Bo was a lifetime member of the AFL-CIO (Pulp and Papermakers Union). He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Bo served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Rockbridge. He was a member of the American Legion. Bo was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar E. and Ruth McGaughy Allen; his wife, Willie Lou Allen; and two grandchildren, Tina Irene Pittman and Stacey Renee Allen.

Survivors include two sons, Rex (Gena) Allen, of Florence, and Jim (Debbie) Allen, of Greenville; a daughter, Charlotte (Jim) Bramblett, of Lake Village, Ark.; five grandchildren, Shauna Allen, Eljay Allen, Joseph Allen, Wesley Allen and Cody Allen; and one great-grandchild, Kingston Hankins.

Pallbearers will be Eljay Allen, Wesley Allen, Joseph Allen, Mark Roland, Tim Perkins and Perry Naquin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to River City Rescue Mission.
