CARRIERE — A celebration of life service will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Leakesville for Vicky Dowdy, who died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010.

Mrs. Dowdy lived in Vicksburg from February 2000 until May. She taught art at Sherman Avenue and Dana Road elementary schools, and was a hostess with the Miss Mississippi Pageant for seven years.

Visitation will be from 4 until the hour of service at the church, and Tuesday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the West Union Baptist Church of Carriere. Graveside services will follow at the West Union Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
