Services for Shirley Jean Chase will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Zion M.B. Church in Utica with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Chase died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 56.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Burnside; and her mother, Gladys Green.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Chase of Vicksburg; two daughters, Rhonda Martin of Jesup, Ga., and LaTasha Chase of Vicksburg; two sons, Greg Johnson of Vicksburg and Jerry Johnson of Green Bay, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
