A Vicksburg man was arrested Thursday on charges he assaulted his girlfriend the day before.

Antonio McCloud, 30, 1224 Grammar St., was arrested at 5:50 p.m. at his home after an abuse was reported Wednesday, Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Accused of choking his girlfriend, McCloud was charged with aggravated domestic violence, Stewart said.

The victim did not require medical attention.

McCloud was held without bond at the Issaquena County Jail.

Another Vickburg man was being held in Issaquena on a drug charge.

David Thomas, 45, 296 Dana Road, was arrested by Vicksburg police at 9:30 p.m. Thursday during a traffic stop on Halls Ferry and North Frontage roads, Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

About $100 worth of cocaine turned up during a search of the vehicle, which had equipment problems, Stewart said.

Thomas was charged with possession of cocaine and held without bond.
