With the mental wounds of last week’s embarassing loss still fresh, Porters Chapel returns to the field Friday night with a new task — shake it off in time to save its season.
PCA heads to Flowood to face District 5-A rival University Christian in what amounts to a playoff game in early September.
The four-team district also includes cellar dweller Russell Christian, which has been outscored 121-13 in its first four games, and Newton County Academy (2-1). That essentially means three teams are fighting for two playoff spots, making Friday’s game a must-win for both PCA (2-1) and University Christian (2-1).
