Register takes first at WC-VHS meet

Hannah Register finished first overall, and was one of three Warren Central runners in the top 10, at Saturday’s Warren Central-Vicksburg High Invitational cross country meet in Bovina.
Register won the girls’ meet with a time of 17 minutes and 13 seconds. Teammate Sakita Shelton was third in 18:16 and Kailyn McCarley was sixth in 18:23. Despite the impressive showing, the Lady Vikes finished second in the team standings behind Brandon.
In the boys’ race, WC’s Walter King was 12th overall with a time of 22:14 to help the Vikings to a fifth-place team finish. West Monroe was first, followed by Clinton and St. Andrew’s. Vicksburg and St. Aloysius did not have the minimum of five runners required to qualify for the team standings.
Ten teams and 241 runners competed.
