A Bovina man apparently fired two shotgun blasts at a Vicksburg man whose vehicle ran off Tiffintown Road and slammed into a home Saturday afternoon, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
The incident began around 4 p.m., said Pace, when a westbound 1999 Chevy Tahoe driven by Rodney Allen, 35, 104 Shady Lane, left Tiffintown, just west of Tucker Road, and slammed into a home at 905 Tiffintown owned by Robert Farish.
“Apparently, Mr. Farish emerged from his house with a 12-guage shotgun and fired two rounds at Mr. Allen’s vehicle,” Pace said. “One went through one of the tires, and one entered the driver’s window and exited the rear passenger’s window. Mr. Allen left the scene of the accident and went back east on Tiffintown Road, where he ran off the road again.”
Allen was taken to River Region Medical Center. His condition was undetermined, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said Saturday evening.
“It is not believed (Allen) was injured from the shotgun blast,” the sheriff said, who noted Allen was in the vehicle alone and was believed to have just left a soccer field about a half mile east of where the wreck occurred.
No citations were issued, Pace said, but added an investigation was under way.
“We have been in contact with District Attorney Ricky Smith, and the entire matter will be presented to his office, possibly as early as Monday morning,” Pace said.
There was significant damage to both Farish’s home and Allen’s vehicle, Pace said.
