Westower Communications employees David Strausbaugh and Ed Flowers tighten things up as they climb the 300-foot-tall addition to the Mississippi Wireless Integrated Network on Old Cain Ridge Road Tuesday. With funding from the Department of Homeland Security, 143 towers are being built across the state to improve interoperable communication for government, public safety and first responders during emergencies. A similar tower was installed off Oak Ridge Road last month.
