A fast-food restaurant on Halls Ferry Road was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night, the second time in six weeks.

Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department said a one-gloved man with a silver handgun went into the Sonic Drive-In at 3101 Halls Ferry, showed the gun, demanded money and ran away with $123 at about 10 p.m.

The robber was described as a black male wearing one white glove, a black sweatshirt and black jeans, with a dark blue shirt wrapped around his head, Stewart said. Employees could not give a description of the man’s height or weight.

He ran north toward John Allen Street, employees told police.

On Aug. 6 a black male wearing a ski mask, blue long-sleeved shirt and dark pants and carrying a pistol stole $136 before getting away in a vehicle. No arrest has been made in that case. Police will examine security tapes to determine if the two robberies are connected, Stewart said.
