John Adams Jones

John Adams Jones died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 69.

Mr. Jones was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, where he played football. He was a deacon at Mount Zion M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otha “Kidd” Scott; and his mother, Hattie Lee Truly.

Survivors include his wife, Lula M. Jones; four children, Tanya McCleary, Valencia Jones and Jon Jones, all of Vicksburg, and Marlin Jones of Morrisville, N.C.; four siblings, Earnestine Carson, Gladys Warfield, Pat Jones and Bobbie Harrington, all of Vicksburg; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including members of the Jones, Carson, Warfield, Truly and Lewis families.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
