Miss Harper to marry Mr. Harris on Oct. 2

The engagement of Amber R. Harper of Hattiesburg to Roy C. Harris III of Clarksdale is announced today. The wedding will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 2, 2010, at Vicksburg City Auditorium. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Miss Harper is the daughter of Cleveland Harper Jr. of Navarre, Fla., and Felicia Stafford of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of the late Cleveland Harper and Dorothy Harper of Utica, Mary Duckworth-Stafford of Hattiesburg and the late Jessie Stafford and the late Fred Duckworth.
Mr. Harris is the son of Roy Harris Jr. and Marilyn Harris of Clarksdale. He is the grandson of Roy Harris Sr. of Greenwood, Minnie Harris of Memphis, Leon Edwards, Inez Edwards and the late Freddie Edwards, all of Clarksdale.
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Hattiesburg High School. She attended Alcorn State University.
Miss Harper is a cashier at McDonald’s.
The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Clarksdale High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He received an Associate of Arts degree in biology from Coahoma Community College, where he was a member of the Math and Science Club.
Mr. Harris is employed in security/EMR at DiamondJacks Casino.
