Derrick Lavell Dotson Sr. died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. He was 39.

Mr. Dotson was a truck driver and Masonic lodge member. He was a deacon at Hickory Tree M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Dotson Sr.; grandparents, Lemuel and Mary Dukes and Archie and Emma Burnette; and a brother, Michael Dotson.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Dotson; son, Derrick L. Dotson Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Kyla Reed and Brittany Matthews, both of Vicksburg; mother, Jeanette Dotson of Vicksburg; six brothers, Tommy Dotson Jr. and Jerrick Dotson, both of Vicksburg, and Lemuel Dotson, Clarence Dotson, W. L. Dotson and Willie Dotson, all of Camden, Ohio; eight sisters, Tommiesin Jenkins of Jackson, Mary N. Dotson and Wynona Anderson, both of Vicksburg, Essie B. King, Earline Dotson and Betty Adams, all of Camden, JoAnn Turner of Raleigh and Clara Moore of Chicago; and other relatives, including Annie Richardson of Hermanville and Adlene Johnson of Vicksburg.
