Do a fun thing. Go to the secretary of state’s website and look up the donors of your favorite politician. Talk about shock and awe.

After you do this, stop for just a moment and think about this: Is it any wonder why American politics is completely run by the special interest and not the people? It matters not which party, it’s fun to see what kind of donors give to each.

I know they all act as though you are important when it is time for your vote. I am sorry. You’re just not.

Just look. You will see insurance companies, drug companies, credit card companies, law firms and more. One thing that really gets you is the amount of money the drug companies give to some politicians. Oh, they also give to doctors as well. Well maybe not cash, but an awful lot of other stuff. Where there is a will, there is a way.

The doctors harp on the politicians? There is little difference between the two on this level. Doctors do get to fix stuff sometimes. Politicians don’t have that down yet.

On both of these fronts, we got ourselves into this mess. We can vote to get out of one, and maybe if we keep voting we will get out of the other. I am afraid it will take more time though.

When you start looking, this stuff just kind of jumps out at you. Here’s praying everyone will cast a vote for real change.
