Constance Allie Mosley Sanders

SARALAND, Ala. — Constance Allie Mosley Sanders, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

She was born October 30, 1932, in Wayne County, Miss., a longtime resident of Prichard, Ala., and a current resident of Saraland.

Connie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin C. “Sonny” Sanders; and her parents, Zora Hutto Mosley and James C. Mosley.

She is survived by her two children, Lynn (O’Neil) Robinson and Michael (Cecilia) Sanders; five granddaughters, Ashley R. (James) Fuqua, Kelly R. (Derek Atchison) Shelton, Shay R. Owen, Stephanie R. (Jeremy) Richardson, and Coti N. Sanders. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Fuqua, Ashlynn Fuqua, Sloan Shelton, Samuel Shelton, Cole Owen, Hayden Owen and Bryce Richardson; two sisters, Ann (Bob) Walters and Martha Westbrook; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a longtime member of the Mobile Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mamaw Connie was the matriarch of her family and of Robinson’s School of Dance where she loved all the students for 40 years. She loved watching her granddaughters and great-granddaughters dance and her great-grandsons participate in sports. She enjoyed traveling to dance competitions throughout the country and supporting all the dance students.

Funeral services were held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home Monday at 10 a.m. Visitation was Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment was at Pine Crest Cemetery.
