ROLLING FORK — Stan D. Boykin died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was 66.

A native of Murphy, Miss., Mr. Boykin had lived in Delta City and Rolling Fork for many years. He worked as a farmer, deputy sheriff and road foreman for Sharkey County. He was a member of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Boykin Jr.; and his mother, Joyee Dupuy Boykin.

Survivors include his wife, Adel M. Boykin of Rolling Fork; four sons, James A. Boykin III of Tupelo, Dewayne Boykin of Rolling Fork, Homer Billings and wife Patricia of Delta City and Claude Billings Jr. and wife Laurie of Anguilla; two daughters, Joyee Beth Durrough and husband John Robert of Ruleville and Julie Young Brister and husband Steve of Tupelo; two sisters, Patti Blakeway and husband Brad of little Rock, Ark., and Jamie Vandevender and husband Buddy of Delta City; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Golden Link Cemetery with the Rev. Millard L. Caulder officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Rolling Fork. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Robert Stigall, Bud Stigall, Earl Cooper, David Francis, Pat Francis and Jimmy Bagby.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Brown, Tommy Kelly and Brandon Billings.
