If St. Aloysius is to make the Class 1A playoffs, it has to start by winning Friday at Salem.

The Flashes fell to 0-2 in Region 4-1A after last week’s 28-7 homecoming loss to Dexter. That came on the heels of a 53-6 loss at Bogue Chitto. The good news for St. Al (2-4, 0-2 in region play) is that Dexter and Bogue Chitto are at the top of the standings. Salem (2-4, 0-3) is at the bottom, making Friday’s game both winnable and a must-win.

“No doubt, we need to win four of the next five to get in,” St. Al coach B.J. Smithhart said. “You might can get in with three, but then you would need a lot of help.”
