I would like to thank the Vicksburg Main Street Program for sponsoring the Bricks and Spokes bicycle ride through Warren County last Saturday.

The ride was an overwhelming success. Approximately 75 riders participated in this first ride, which is sure to be a hit for years to come. Kim Hopkins and Samantha Blount did a tremendous job of making sure all the details were taken care of.

I would also like to thank all the volunteers. The rest stops were well staffed and in excellent locations.

A special thank you goes to Dustin Blount and Roger Hopkins, who did not get to ride because they volunteered to drive the Sag Wagon and make any unscheduled bicycle repairs along the way. Thanks to the City of Vicksburg and the police and sheriff’s departments for keeping all riders safe at busy intersections.
