JACKSON — Betty Jean Watson, 63, passed away on Oct. 7, 2010, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson.
Ms. Watson was a native of Vicksburg and was an educator. She was a teacher in the Copiah County and Jackson Public schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ernestine Watson.
She is survived by three sisters, Bobbie Johnson (her twin), Leatrice Stampley and Mary Watson; a brother, Richard Watson; a devoted niece/daughter Cynthia Smith; a life partner, Carey Palmer; two aunts; one uncle; 10 nieces and nephews, eight great-nieces and -nephews and four great- great-nieces and -nephews; and cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at College Hill M.B. Church, 1600 Florence Ave., Jackson. Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 7 at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home, 3580 Robinson Road, Jackson. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
