WOODVILLE, Texas — Vela Andria Moore died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Dogwood Trails Manor in Woodville, Texas. She was 91.

She was a native of Hinds County, where she was formerly employed for over 30 years by the Gaddis & McLaurin General Merchandise Co. in Bolton. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Learned.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, John Purnell Moore; her parents, Arthur Neil and Della Gunter Morrison; sisters, Betty Chappell, Ruby Bryan and Lucille Davis; and a brother, Raymond Morrison.

Survivors include her son, Johnny G. Moore of Warren, Texas; a sister, Edna Earl Cessna of Utica; and one granddaughter.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at the Salem Baptist Church in Learned. Burial followed at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Utica.
