Demichael Janard Jones, 17, 303 Hillside Drive was formally charged with three vehicle burglaries in the county, two reported July 16 and one on Sept. 7.

The third teen, Marvel Deshaun Hunter, 19, 1840 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., was indicted for burglary of a city residence on March 19.

The three were among 18 defendants arraigned by presiding Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick after being formally charged by the Warren County Grand Jury, which convened Monday.

Grand jurors meet with prosecutors and law enforcement authorities, reviewing evidence in felony cases and deciding if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial. If so, they issue indictments and defendants are formally arraigned in open court and assigned a trial date.

Jurors concluded their service Thursday afternoon, and additional arraignments were scheduled today.

The grand jury’s formal report and recommendations and the list of defendants “no-billed,” meaning there was not enough evidence to prosecute, will also be made public today.

Dearman is accused of breaking into a home in the 2500 block of Cherry Street on April 1. Reported stolen from the residence was assorted jewelry, a Rolex watch, two guns and a Sony DVD player. Three others, including Felix Reese Williams, 20, 2808 Yerger St., also arraigned Thursday, were also accused of the burglary.

Dearman also was indicted for the July 28 burglary of a Honda Accord in the Kroger parking lot at 3408 Pemberton Square Blvd., in which a woman’s purse containing about $250 was stolen. The purse and money were recovered, court documents showed.

Jones was indicted for three car burglaries in the county, including two on July 16 — in the 90 block of Joe Edna Drive, in which an MP3 player was reported stolen from a Toyota Tundra, and in the 3300 block of Indiana Avenue, in which an iPod was missing from a BMW — and one on Sept. 7 in the 100 block of Mill Creek Drive, when an iPhone and a 9-mm gun were reported missing.

Hunter’s charges also come from a city burglary, one reported March 19 in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

In addition to burglary cases, grand jurors also indicted John Ragsdale, 36, 1415 High St., on two counts of arson. Ragsdale is accused in the July 1 blaze of a four-unit residence at 2232 Grove St.

Also charged, but not yet indicted, was Zenobia Smith, of the same residence as Ragsdale. Smith was said by authorities to have once lived in the Grove Street complex.

Also arraigned or waiving arraignment Thursday were:

• Carl Jay Britt, 36, 616 Seventh St., Magee — grand larceny, Nov. 17, 2009.
