The mayor of Crystal Springs said today he was waiting on some business owners to arrive back in town before assessments are made on property damage from a Monday fire.
Meetings are likely once the business owners return, Mayor Arthur Lee Evans Jr. said.
The pre-dawn blaze Monday in a block of buildings on South Jackson Street is under investigation by the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office. The first structure that caught fire housed a restaurant, a frame shop and an alteration business. Several neighboring businesses were also damaged.
