The last weekend of this month, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Bovina will host its annual Fall Founders’ Festival, an event featuring a weekend of fun and fellowship.
The occasion will mark the 153rd anniversary of the founding of St. Alban’s, a lovely country church situated on Warriors Trail, six miles east of Vicksburg.
Activities will begin Friday evening as re-enactors and Boy Scouts set up camp on the grounds of the church. The re-enactors will be dressed in period costumes and will remain in camp throughout the weekend.
At 10 a.m. Oct. 30, two events will take place — a vintage car show and living history demonstrations at the Civil War encampment. At 2 p.m., Union and Confederate re-enactors will skirmish in the woods behind the church and the rectory.
