A celebration of life service will be held for Bettie S. Parker at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parker died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at River Region Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 74.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam T. Parker Jr.; parents, Claude and Frances Smith; and her grandson, Houston Lee Harmon.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Parker; daughter, Kathy Harmon; son-in-law, Dicky Harmon; and former daughter-in-law, Evelyn Parker. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Haley Harmon, Caroline Harmon, Samantha Parker and Darbie Woods; and her grandson, Nick Harmon.

Pallbearers include Otha Jones, Edward “Bud” Douglas, Brad Redditt, Bubba Comans, Robert Dowe and Sam Owens.

Honorary pallbearers are Janice Luedke Owens, Cynthia Douglas, Reggie Bockman, John Scott, Parker Leon, Paul Barrett and members of the Retired Fire Fighters and Police Auxiliary.
