Two wrecks, Two injuries

Two people were injured in two wrecks in the city Wednesday afternoon. Above, Vicksburg police Sgt. Stephanie Hester, 100 Starlight Drive, was westbound on Indiana when her 2004 Ford Mustang ran into the back of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Johanna McKellar, 58, 460 Chapel Hills Drive, Johnson said. A passenger in Hester’s car, 14-year-old Frederick Summers, also of 100 Starlight Drive, was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said. At right, police investigate after another two-vehicle wreck, on North Frontage Road near McDonald’s at about 3:30 p.m. The driver of a 2006 Dodge Caravan, Mary Friley, 64, 101 Allendale Drive, had stopped to turn left into the restaurant when a Nissan Altima driven by Jerome Parker, 22, 40 Ironwood Drive, ran into the back of the van. A passenger in the van, Brenda Friley, 45, was treated and released from River Region, a spokesman said.
