The Vicksburg Warren School District’s first “listen and learn” forum Wednesday night for parents and teachers saw a light turnout, but those who attended said it produced a heavy impact.

“I was very enlightened,” said Tonja Klein, who was one of about 17 attending. “We talked about the ideal school and we talked about the opportunities in schools.”

The hour-long meeting, led by Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Duran Swinford, allowed for parents and teachers to voice opinions and concerns about the schools as well as offer suggestions to counter the concerns in small groups in the presence of a school district administrator from Swinford’s office.
