PORT GIBSON — Billy Ray Bufkin died Nov. 8, 2010, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 69.

Born Oct. 14, 1941, to Henry David and Mary Elizabeth Daughtery Bufkin, he was the youngest of 12 children. He was married to Marjorie Cain Bufkin, celebrating 47 years of marriage on June 28, 2010.

A former employee of Marathon-LeTourneau, he was retired from RigMasters Inc. of Dubai, UAE.

He enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren as well as hunting and fishing. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Mr. Bufkin was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Henry Delmar Bufkin, Thomas Hugh Bufkin and Luther Marion Bufkin Sr.; and five sisters, Lula Elizabeth B. Bliss, Annie Ruth B. Fortner, Doris Mae B. Fuller McIlvoy, Mary Elzader B. Webster and Hazel Marie Bufkin.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Anthony Wayne “Tony” Bufkin and wife Lori of Port Gibson, and Richard Lee Bufkin and wife Angie and Michael Ray “Mickey” Bufkin and wife Mary, all of Vicksburg; one daughter, Patricia Ellen B. Rollison of Port Gibson; two grandsons, Anthony “Brett” Bufkin of Port Gibson and Richard Lee “Richie” Bufkin of Vicksburg; five granddaughters, Amanda Lee Bufkin of Pattison, Cassie Monroe Bufkin and Finley Ellen Rollison, both of Port Gibson, and Macey Leanne Bufkin and Marley Rae Bufkin, both of Vicksburg; one stepgranddaughter, Morgan Renee Vinson of Vicksburg; three brothers, Jack David Bufkin Sr. and Charles Leslie Bufkin Sr., both of Vicksburg, and Henry David Bufkin Jr. of Port Gibson; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Janice Bufkin and Jerry Bufkin; and his faithful dog, Lucy.

Pallbearers will be his sons, grandsons, and nephew, Ken Bufkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Jerry Bufkin, Ural Bliss Jr., Jackie Bufkin, Jimmy Webster, Jamie Cain, Victor Rushing, Carl Wendenberg, Dr. P.W. Pierce III and Dr. John Agnone.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Carroll Walker, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery.
