Dorothy Steward

Services for Dorothy Steward will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion M.B. Church, Ballground, with the Rev. Charlie Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her father, D.C. Brown; two brothers, Lewis A. Brown and William Luckett; and one sister, Ora Brown Ragan.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Steward Jr. of San Antonio; one son, Wesley Steward III; three daughters, Kathleen McCaslin and Rosalind Flowers, both of San Antonio, and Jennifer Duncan of Houston; her mother, Ernestine Luckett of Redwood; a brother, James Luckett of Los Angeles; four sisters, Katherine Jackson and Mary Luckett, both of Los Angeles, and Hazel Luckett and Karolyn Luckett Jones, both of Redwood; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Steward died Thursday, Nov. 4. 2010, at her home in San Antonio. She was 71.
Mrs. Steward was a former resident of Ballground. She was a graduate of Bowman High School and a retired pre-kindergarten teacher at Children’s House Montessori School. She was a member of the Lackland Baptist Chapel, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and she also attended Grant Community Christian Church.
