Tankesly, Kelly recite vows Oct. 2

Christopher Michael Tankesly and Ashley Elizabeth Kelly were married at 6 p.m. Oct. 2, 2010, at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. Kevin Hurt officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ken and Christy Pecanty of Vicksburg and Scott Kelly of Breaux Bridge, La. She is the granddaughter of Hugh and Frankie Wilkinson, Jerry and Glenda Kelly and Jane Pecanty and the late Mitch Pecanty, all of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Vickie Tankesly and the late Thomas Tankesly of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Betty Jean Hinson and the late Robert Hinson and the late Ed and Charlotte Tankesly, all of Vicksburg.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride’s chosen colors were black, white and red. Nuptial selections were presented by Melissa Proctor and Kristy Brumsfield, soloists, and Lauren Proctor, Ashley Proctor and Danielle Proctor, performers.

Maid of honor was Jennifer Gullett of Vicksburg. Matron of honor was Denise Ratliff of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Mandi Driver of Oak Grove, La., and Danielle Pecanty, Brandy Bedgood and Heather Blok, all of Vicksburg.

Robert Stinson of Rossville, Ga., served as best man. Groomsmen were Wesley Purvis of Starkville and Chuck Anderson, Eric Proctor, Kyle Christian and James Lee, all of Vicksburg.

Ushers were David Tankesly and Shane Garrard, both of Vicksburg.

Flower girls were Baylyn Pecanty and Jacie Ratliff, both of Vicksburg. Ring bearer was Ezra Blackwell of Cayce, S.C.

A reception followed the ceremony. Hostesses were Rachel Redditt, Carol Zorb, Melissa Hearn and Marlo Hymel.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Las Vegas. They will make their home in Vicksburg.

The bride is employed at The Vicksburg Post, and the groom is employed with the Vicksburg Police Department.
