Miss Mississippi Sarah Beth James spent Sunday afternoon showing off the wardrobe she’ll take with her to compete in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas in January. James, who took the state crown in Vicksburg in July, was back at the Vicksburg Convention Center for the annual trunk show and to perform the piano piece she’ll play in Las Vegas, “Piano Fantasy.” The 20-year-old from Madison was crowned Miss Mississippi in her third year of the competition. James is studying public relations and journalism at Mississippi State University and plans to continue her studies to get a master’s degree. She will leave on Jan. 6 for Las Vegas and the national competition that will culminate with the televised crowning on Jan. 15.
