Alford, Spencer are wed in St. Francisville

Dr. John Brian Alford and Amy Brooke Spencer were married at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2, 2010, at Desert Plantation in St. Francisville, La. Pastor Pete Wunstel officiated at the ceremony. Honorary officiant was Dr. Don Jackson.

The bride is the daughter of John and Sandra Spencer of Columbus, Ohio. She is the granddaughter of the late Jack and Emza Spencer and the late Roscoe and Catherine Reinhart, all of Columbus, Ohio.

The groom is the son of John and Shirley Alford of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Trudy Fellows and the late Aubrey Fellows of McComb and the late Clifton and Thelma Alford of Tylertown.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride’s chosen colors were black, gold, cream and scarlet. Music for the ceremony was presented by Stefka Madere, violinist.

Serving as the bride’s attendants were Wendy Geist, sister of the bride, of Albany, Ore., and Jennifer Kross of Jamestown, N.D. The groom’s attendants were Brad Taylor of Mobile, Ala., and Matt Gullett and Jeff Wong, both of Vicksburg.

Ring bearer was Eli Geist, nephew of the bride, of Albany.

Readers were Sascha Instone and Erica Alford, sister of the groom.

A reception followed the ceremony.

The couple will make their home in Baton Rouge. The bride is a doctoral graduate student in wildlife and fisheries at Mississippi State University, and the groom is employed with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
