PATTISON — Aubrey Arden Hynum Jr., age 71, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at his home in Pattison.

He was born March 20, 1939, in Tillman, Miss., to the late Aubrey and Mary Hynum. He was united in marriage with Becky Ann Flowers on July 7, 1957.

Aubrey worked as a superintendent for Brown & Root in Texas for many years before moving back to his childhood home of Mississippi. He worked as pipefitter general foreman during construction of Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. He was also a skilled tool and die maker.

Aubrey loved music and, in the 1950s, played guitar on the televised Louisiana Hay Ride and the Farmer Jim Neal Show.

After retirement, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Aubrey is survived by his wife, Becky; two sons, Glenn and his wife, Rebecca, of Atlanta and Tim and his wife, Tina, of Pattison; his daughter, Debbie and her husband, Larry Barrett, of Pattison; three sisters, Cathy Pierce of Delta, La., Judy Worley of Clinton and Patsy Barlow of Barlow, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Everett.

Services for Aubrey Arden Hynum Jr. will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 until the service.

Pallbearers will be Joey Fife, Charlie Fife, Michael Shannon, Terry Roberts, Joseph Flowers and Ross Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Flowers, Jimmy Flowers, Carl Flowers, Rush Flowers, Johnny Williams and Scott Fife.
