VALLEY PARK — Lucille McPhail Bodie died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 89.

Born in Jefferson Davis County, Mrs. Bodie was a Valley Park resident for 68 years. She was employed for 23 years at Delta Elastic Co. in Rolling Fork.

She was a member of Valley Park Homemakers Club, the Deer Creek Eastern Star and Valley Park Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bodie; and two grandsons, Ben Bodie and Jason Johnson.

Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Brown of Vicksburg; a son, Jerry Bodie of Rolling Fork; one stepson, John H. Bodie of Cary; a sister, Janell Holloway of Vicksburg; two brothers, Charles Ray McPhail of Rolling Fork and Hubert McPhail of Mendenhall; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Valley Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Purser officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg and Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Braxton, Bert McPhail, Jimmy Newman, Hugh Douglas, Eric McPhail, Charles Kerr, C.P. Clay, Ricky Cox, Larry Whitten and Hubert McPhail.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ray McPhail, Ted Porter, Bob Wixon, Joe Rutledge, Larry Jenkins, Dr. Joseph Wilson and Sammy Johnson.
