Teen to be charged as adult in shooting

A Vicksburg teen arrested Saturday night in a shooting and attempted robbery will be charged as an adult, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Ronald Bailey, 15, 320 Fisher Ferry Road, Apt. 47, is accused along with Anthony James Lewis Jr., 19, and Davionte Wince, 17, both of 320 Fisher Ferry Road, Apt. 44, in the Friday night shooting of Eddie Johnson, 19, 3011 1/2 Green St., police said.

Johnson, who was walking on Mission 66 near Alcorn Drive at 10:20, was shot after a car carrying three people stopped and the they attempted to rob Johnson of his backpack, Stewart said.

All three are charged with aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery, and they remained in the Warren County Jail.

No condition report was available for Johnson, whom Stewart said was taken to River Region Medical Center.
