A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail Saturday night charged with strong armed robbery, Vicksburg police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.

Trey Hayes, 21, 1208 Second North St., is accused of snatching a purse from a woman as she was walking with a group of people to the Old Court House Museum on Cherry Street around 9 p.m.

Police chased Hayes on foot to a home in the 1500 block of Adams Street where he was arrested, Williams said.

Hayes is being held without bond pending an initial court hearing.
